Eye Aim Trainer

Gaze-driven target trainer built on WebGazer, with a mouse fallback for anyone without a camera.

Eye Aim Trainer

01

The problem

Webcam gaze is noisy: at best it lands within about 4 degrees of where you look (Papoutsaki et al., IJCAI 2016), far wider than a 30 px target, and raw predictions shake every frame.

02

How I approached it

Gaze arrives through WebGazer's gaze listener, since its getCurrentPrediction() returns a Promise in version 2. A nine-dot click calibration trains its regression before play, the way WebGazer's own demo does. Each frame the point runs through a 1€ filter (Casiez et al., CHI 2012), tuned under test to cut resting jitter about 4x while still catching a jump across the arena within about 5 frames, and in gaze mode the hit circle is wider and drawn that way. Dwell on a target for 550 ms to shoot, or click or press Space.

03

The outcome

A trainer that works with the eyes or the mouse, with score, streak, level and accuracy. 9 tests cover the target engine and the filter.
